On Sunday, June 30th, about twenty 3Gs and their supporters participated in the DC's first Ride for the Living. The ride was a satellite ride to the larger event in Poland, which was a 55-mile ride from Auschwitz to the new JCC in Krakow. Satellite rides happened in cities across the U.S. and Canada, including 79 people riding in Detroit. Following the theme of riding from someplace of loss to someplace of Jewish renewal, the DC crew met at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, and rode 18 miles around the city, ending up at Shouk, for some some Israeli cuisine and discussion. We hope to make this an annual event, perhaps adding some educational programming at the end.
