3GDC joined thousands of others in front of the U.S. Capitol for the No Fear: A Rally In Solidarity with the Jewish People. 3GDC signed on as a supporting sponsor of the rally, which spoke out against antisemitism and for the right of the Jewish people to live in peace.
“We are here today because we care deeply and profoundly about Jewish life and Jewish values,” said Elisha Wiesel, son of Survivor and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel.
In addition to Wiesel, speakers included several current and former elected officials, community activists, victims of antisemitic attacks, and celebrities. "I wish for him to grow up in a world where this hate is eradicated once for all," said actress Noa Tishby, speaking about her son Ari.
The Rally comes as recent years have seen an increase nationally in antisemitic incidents, such as assaults, vandalism, and harassment. Specifically, 2019 and 2020 saw the highest and third-highest number of such incidents since this data started being recorded, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
"We will not allow anyone to take us backwards," said Arizona State Representative Alma Hernandez and sponsor of a recently enacted Holocaust education bill in the state (see story in newsletter).
"You have non-Jewish allies here who stand with you unequivocally," said Joshua Washington, Executive Director of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel.
